These subs will move you—literally! Each integrates a Dynamic Balance composite driver in a ported enclosure, plus a high-current amp, to pump out astonishingly big bass. Movies sound more exciting, music more immediate and lifelike. Compression circuitry keeps distortion to a minimum, even at high volumes. The amp's adjustable low-pass crossover, phase switch, and volume control let you blend the bass with your front speakers' sound. And the amp is signalsensing, so it knows when to switch on and off.

Great value for its cost. Very good for music listening and also great for movie watching. Although this was an open-box item, it was packaged just as if it came from the manufacturer and I would never have guessed it was opened, let alone used, before. Perhaps it wasn't! I was not disappointed in the least! I gave it 4 stars and not 5, because I am not technologically savvy, and haven't compared this to a much more high end unit. It sure seems like a "butt kicker" to me when viewing movies with explosions, such as in "Proof of Life.;" in fact I wasn't sure what that term meant until experiencing it.

Sub is used in my home theater with Polk main, center and surrounds. Powered by an Onkyo receiver. This sub provides just the right amount of bass without overpowering the program material, be it music or movies. Very natural sound, no artificial "boominess"
